Back in June, the Fair Work Commission announced that for FY2021 there will be a 1.75% increase to both the minimum wage, and subsequently the minimum Award wages across all Modern Awards, however not altogether!
In an effort to recognise the impacts of COVID on different industries, the Award increases were not ALL effective from 1 July (which they normally are). Some Award rates did increase a few months ago, another group will increase from next week, when we hit November 2020 and others not until Feb 2021.
We see what they’re doing, but it’s making something already a little confusing, even more so.
If your Award is included the November group (some of these are included below, but the full list is here), you will need to check that your employee pay rates and make any necessary increases from the start of the first full pay period on or after 1 November.
